When my scope comes to get in there?
When my dreams turn real there?
When my body gets utter shudder?
By the presence of the heavenly dear!

When this sinful, utter salam facing him?
When I feel the glorious charisma of that divine charm?
When my soul gets peace by achieving the dream?
When my heart finds calm fulfilling the aim?

What happiness you are giving oh Medina!
‘City of the Prophet’, what a unique name you have, Medina!
You are the rest place of Lord’s beloved, oh, Medina!
You are the most beloved abode for the believer, oh, Medina!

Recall Rifaee’, the lucky who has given the holy hands to kiss…
How lovely he said: I had been sending here my soul when in distance
Now here I am, let me oh, my beloved, kiss your blessed hands!
My lord, grant us too the chance to kiss the beloved’s hands…

Lord, let us get in the Twaiba; soon with our dears and nears,
To meet and greet Your most beloved with blessed tears,
To see the sands, stones and land where the blessed stays,
To touch and smell the heavenly parts which are the great…

And assure the grand Shafa’a of the fearful times,
Ya Allah, the Source of Mercy, do not make in vain our efforts!
Forgive our sins and sips from the worldly pleasures,
By Your endless mercy, make us in the good ones!

Siddeq and Farooq! We wonder of your lucky, dears!
Lived with the blessed, and rest with the blessed, oh you heads!
Let us be with them in the Paradise, Oh Lord of the worlds!
And bestow your mercy on your most beloved always!

If pearls are to be valued
then were does your value lie
Ya Habibullah?

You were not sent
except as a mercy
to all the worlds –
a mercy to mine
as I try to grasp
the essence of your character –
your beauty, compassion,
and the mercy
bestowed upon you
by the most Merciful
of those who give mercy.

If pearls are to be beloved
then were does love for you lie
Ya Khalilallah?

With love you brought to me
this message –
with your blood
and tears
and sweat (the sweetest scent of musk)
you left me with the Love of You and Word of my Creator
and you left us to meet your Khalil
as the world we bid farewell to your fair city, and to you
to the mercy for all the worlds
sent by the most Merciful.

If pearls are to be dearest
then where does closeness for you lie
Ya Khalilallah?

On Aisha’s lap your head rested,
with al-Siddiq you shared a tiny cave,
the son of Khattab was your fiercest defendant,
the keeper of Noorayn to your daughters was wed,
and young Ali was but a part of your blessed household;
yet we
some 1400 years later
yearn for closeness
to you
Ya Rasoolallah –
through your Sunnah
we hope to achieve a morsel
of what the best of generations
the best of people got to taste:
the sweetness of your character
the beauty of your nature
the light of your Message and your ways.

If pearls are to be pearls
most beloved
most pure,
you, Ya Rasoolallah
are my most beloved
among men;
the most Merciful sent you as a mercy
to all the worlds
and I will forever yearn to taste
a fragment of that mercy
and will forever struggle to attain
the honor of being a part of your Ummah
Ya Khalilallah.

May the peace and blessings be upon you
o most beloved,
most pure,
and I pray to Him in whose Hands my soul is
to make me a part of your Ummah
to unite us on that fateful day
so that I can truly taste
the sweetness of your beauty,
and your character,
blessed be your name.

My role model, my revered prophet
The light of God’s eye
It is by mimicking your actions that

I strive to live and die
If I can just be a mere fraction
Of the person that you were
My bounties, knowledge and goodness
Will indeed commence to incur

No single unbeliever (black nor white)
Can aid in your defamation
It is through God’s eyes that you are
The key to human kind’s salvation

O Prophet, my beloved prophet
The Seal of all who came before you
Your kindness, love and compassion
Cannot ever be surpassed nor eschewed

They have tried to denounce you
Yet your name is inscribed in the throne of God
Indeed they’ll never know love will surpass hate
And their plan to vilify you is flawed

They can say whatever they want to say
They will unfortunately never know
The love and admiration for you that
Will ALWAYS and FOREVER continue to grow

And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones.
(2:45)

And keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and whatever good you send before for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; surely Allah sees what you do. (2:110)

A Salat performed in the Prophet’s Mosque is better than a thousand salats (Bukhari and Muslim)

The person, who offers 40 prayers consecutively in my Mosque, without missing a prayer in between, will secure immunity from the fire of Hell and other torments and also from hypocrisy." - reported by Anas ibn Malik RadhiAllahu anhu in Ahmad and Tab’raani collections.

This key to Jannah, Salat, prayer, is the most treasured gift for the believer, the only command brought from Jannah by our Noble Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. The intimate closeness to our Rabb. Our spiritual nourishment, our solace in the face of all hardships, the source of all goodness, the gift of success in this Dunya and the Akhira. "Come to Salat, come to success," reverberating waves of this call palpitating perpetually across the entire globe, a conduit to the beating of hearts, tranquility for the soul. The key to all success, the key to Jannah.

A selection of Ahadith expounding some of the virtues the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam taught about his love for "Salat; the comfort of his eyes."

"Salat was the first and the foremost thing ordained by Allah, and it shall be the first and the foremost thing to be reckoned for on the Day of Judgement."

"Fear Allah in the matter of Salat! "Fear Allah in the matter of Salat! "Fear Allah in the matter of Salat!"

"Salat intervenes between man and Shirk."

"Salat is the mark of Islam, A person who says his Salat at the fixed hours with sincerity and devotion, observing all its regulations including the Mustahabbat, is surely a Mu’min."

"Of all things that have been ordained by Allah, Iman ansd Salat are the most valued. If there were any other thing better than Salat, the Allah would have ordained it for His Angels, some of whom are always in Ruku and Sajdah."

"Salat is the pillar of Islam."

"Salat abases the Shaytan."

"Salat is the light of a Mu’min."

"Salat is the best Jihad."

"Allah keeps relenting towards a person so long as he is engaged in Salat."

"When a calamity befalls us from Jannah, people frequenting the Masjid are spared and saved."

"If some major sins of a Muslim land him in Jahannam, the fire would not burn those parts of his body which have touched the ground while he was in Sajdah during his Salat."

"Fire has been forbidden to touch those parts of the body which touch the ground while performing Sajdah."

"Of all practices, Salat made at fixed hours is most loved by Allah."

"Salat is the key to Jannah."

"When a person stands in Salat the gates of Paradise are let open and all the veils between him and Allah are lifted."

"A person in Salat knocks at the door of the sovereign Lord, and the door is always open for him who knocks."

"The position of Salat in Islam is as the position of the head in a body."

"Salat is the light of the heart. Let those who wish enlighten their hearts (through Salat)"

"If a person wishes to have his sins forgiven by Allah, he should perform Wudhu properly, offer with devotion two or four Rak’aats of Fardh or Nafl and then pray to Allah. Allah will forgive him."

"Any strip of earth, on which Allah is remembered in Salat takes pride over the rest of the Earth."

"Allah accepts the prayers of a person who prays to Him after performing two Rak’aats of Salat. Allah grants him what he prays for, sometimes immediately and sometimes (in his own interest) later."

"Though a man performs the whole Salat, he may get credit for half of it, or a third, a quarter, a fifth, a sixth or a tenth. A man gets credit only for that part of his Salat of which he is conscious."

"Indeed the five prayers remove sins, just as water removes dirt."

"Allah will have no mercy on the Day of Resurrection, for that servant of His who does not straighten his spine between bowing and prostration."

"All praise belongs to God, Who has lavished His favours on His servants, filling their hearts with the light of religion and its duties, sent down from the Throne of Glory to the heaven of this world by the steps of mercy. One mark of His compassion: in contrast to earthly kings, though majesty and might belong to Him Alone, He urges people to bring Him their requests and pleas, saying: "Will anyone call, that I may answer him> Will anyone seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?" Unlike the rulers of this world, He keeps an open door and does not screen Himself away. He allows His servants to converse with Him intimately in their Prayers, under all circumstances, he they in congregation or in isolation. How different are those feeble worldly kings, who grant an audience only when they have received a gift or bribe!

Glory be to Him, therefore, so grand in His sublimity, so Strong in His authority, so Perfect in His graciousness, so All-embracing in His goodness. Blessings and salutations to Muhammad, His chosen prophet and selected friend, SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, and to his family and companions, Radhiallahu anhum, those keys of right guidance and lanterns in the dark."

"Islam is the only religion where you will find a King at the door of beggars asking for their prayers."

Jazakallahu khairan katheeran abada to young Ismail for his expressive and vibrant drawing of a prayer mat! SubhanAllah! May Allah Ta’ala guide him and all our little Muslimeen to the joy of Salat, and hence the key to Jannah. Ameen.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

The movement of pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah is proceeding smoothly, according to various consulates overseeing the arrangements at Jeddah’s Haj Terminal and Madinah airport. It is estimated that the number of foreign pilgrims this time will exceed last year’s 2.1 million.

Saudi Arabia has formed a new crowd-management force in order to prevent pilgrims, street vendors and vehicles from squatting or stopping along streets leading to the Jamrat in Mina where pilgrims congregate to stone the pillars symbolizing evil and where stampedes have occurred in the past.

The force will operate during the peak days of Haj as part of efforts to prevent stampedes and ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims. These efforts are in addition to the medical and security teams that are deployed near Jamrat during the Haj season. Street vendors and lingering luggage-laden pilgrims have been blamed for causing bottlenecks on the human causeways leading up to the Jamrat. The new move emphasizes that the government will show no leniency toward those pilgrims who squat along the streets or street vendors who obstruct the smooth flow of pilgrims.

British Pilgrims

Saudi Ambassador to Britain Prince Muhammad ibn Nawaf yesterday attended a function to honor the first group of British pilgrims leaving for Haj. British Foreign Secretary Margaret Becket was also present in the function, which was organized by the Islamic Cultural Center in London.

Prince Muhammad said: “The Haj is an occasion to bury all the differences between the Muslims the world over.”

The Saudi ambassador said that Saudi Arabia makes maximum efforts in terms of manpower, money and administration to take care of the millions of pilgrims flocking to it from different corners of the world including Britain. He noted that last year more than 25,000 British Muslims performed Haj.

Speaking on the occasion Becket lauded the Saudi government’s dedicated service to the pilgrims. “The British government cooperates with the Saudi government to facilitate the pilgrimage of the British pilgrims,” the foreign secretary said. She also assured that the government did not discriminate among its citizens in the name of religion.

Oldest Indian Pilgrim

The oldest Indian pilgrim to perform Haj this year is 110-year-old Jamila Khatoon, wife of Mohammad Nazir from the Thane district of Maharashtra, Indian Consul General Ausaf Sayeed said.

Accompanied by her son Mohammed Kune and two other people, she is due to arrive in Jeddah on Dec. 14 on a Saudi Arabian flight. The second oldest pilgrim is 106-year-old Amjad Khan from the Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. Last year, 10 persons, all centenarians, successfully performed Haj.

Indian pilgrims who have arrived at the Haj Terminal and Madinah airport say they are comfortable with their respective accommodations in Madinah.

Muslims oppose vast mosque plan

Fear that complex would stoke tension Sect challenged by the moderates

The architect’s vision is of a 21st-century Alhambra, a place for prayer, education, debate and the celebration of Islamic culture.

But the plan to build Europe’s biggest mosque beside the London 2012 Olympic Park is attracting opposition from the Muslim community.

The concern is not the building, but the activities of Tablighi Jamaat, the ultra-orthodox sect that is behind the huge mosque.

A petition against the scheme, organised by Muslims in the East London borough of Newham, attracted 2,500 signatures in only ten days and is continuing to draw support. It says that allowing Tablighi Jamaat to build the mosque would aggravate community tensions.

Ruth Kelly, the Communities and Local Government Secretary, who is currently redrawing the Government’s approach to engagement with the Muslim community, is aware of the East London petition. She has the power to subject the plans to a public inquiry.

The scheme for the mosque, drawn up by the award- winning architects, MYAA, envisages a complex containing an Islamic garden, school and prayer space for as many as 70,000 worshippers — 23 times greater than the capacity of Liverpool cathedral, Britain’s largest Christian place of worship.

Newham Council signed a memorandum of agreement in 2001 with the charity behind the scheme, the Anjuman-E- Islahul Muslimeen, which states it has “no objection in principle to . . . a major new, high-quality mosque”.

But there are mounting concerns about Tablighi Jamaat and its strict interpretation of Islam.

A leaked FBI memo, obtained by US news media in 2005, raised fears that al- Qaeda was using membership of Tablighi Jamaat “as cover . . . to network with other extremists in the US”.

A number of British terrorists have had associations with the organisation, including Richard Reid, the shoe bomber now in prison in the US. Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, two of the July 7 bombers, had links with the large Tablighi Jamaat mosque in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

The sect’s leading scholars encourage its followers to be aloof from politics and the secular world, but security agencies fear that its brand of orthodoxy provides a fertile recruiting ground for terrorists.

Dr Irfan al-Alawi, Europe director of the Centre for Islamic Pluralism, is “extremely concerned” about the spread of Tablighi Jamaat and recently addressed a seminar at the Policy Exchange think-tank about the mosque plans. “Tablighi are not moderate Muslims, they are a separatist movement,” he said.

“If this mosque were to go ahead it will be strictly run by the Tablighis; there will be no room for moderates.”

Asif Shakoor, chairman of Sunni Friends of Newham, said the petition was a response to a feeling that the voices of most Muslims in the area were not being heard. The petition text states: “We propose that when and if planning permission is granted . . . that all Muslim groups be equally represented at the proposed place of worship that is to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games in London.”

Temporary planning permission for a makeshift mosque on the site has expired and a formal application for the new complex has not yet been lodged.

A spokesman for Newham council said: “We are keen to enter into fresh discussions about the future of the project.”

O reader!
Take it from this little soul
A drop from My poetic bowl

A slave once cried along with others
“Rabb! Accept my pilgrimage” said he in tears

He kept his hands raised to the skies
He wished for a reply to come for once

Into his ears came the cry of his folks
They begged for the same favor as him

He felt pity hearing their wail, (and thought)
‘Let their prayer win, even as my fail’

Came this Voice into his ears
“Why such a thought did you nurse?”

The slave replied in a low tone
Why such a marvel had he shown

“They have cried more than me
They have traveled to reach Your Home

One after another,
They suffered with pain

I feel pity for their every sacrifice
Their acceptance for me is suffice

Even if mine is gone,
Let one of their pilgrimage gain

Mercy for my brethren filled my heart
In such a state I forgot my own want

The Voice again spoke in Command
Another marvel for them was at hand

“I am the Lord who created Compassion
If I feel not for them, ‘tis out of reason

My slave of your kind is to them so kind
How then can Your Creator do them offend?

If your heart beats for one slave’s hajj (to be accepted)
Lo! Be known that all your thousands’ do I hereby acknowledge.”

O reader!
Take it from this little soul
A drop from My poetic bowl

He is the Ultimate Artist of this Universe
Who painted this world with eternal benevolence

No mother can show more love for her child
As does the Creator shows for this trifle world

If you ask me the proof of His Everlasting Mercy
He let this sinner live to write such in a world so busy

Now and then His thoughts pierce my veins
I become alive and His Love fills my half-corpse

I wonder at my own image in the mirror
I see the world with new hue and color

His Beloved’s greetings dance on my lips
While joy fills the heart caged between the ribs
